What to wear?
Check out my Pinterest board for some great examples of what to wear.

How long until I get my images back?
For weddings, no later than 4 weeks. Families, no later than three weeks.

How did you get into photography?
When I had my first child, I bought a halfway decent SLR camera and became obsessed with taking her picture, researching, studying how to get it better. With lots of encouragement from my husband and best friend, I started to take it more seriously. It was a totally organic process.

I feel like I’m really awkward and can’t take a good photo.
Are we going to get good shots?

If I had a nickel for every time I heard this I would be rich. Every time anyone has told me this, we were able to get pictures that they were proud of.

Is there anything I should know beforehand that will help have a better session?
Come to your photo shoot as relaxed as possible. I know it can be stressful getting everyone ready and dressed. Breathe deeply once you get in the car. Children pick up on stress very easily. If one of your kids is cranky, don’t worry about it. Let me do what I do best. We WILL get some shots. I know bribes aren’t a good parenting practice but I think a family session is a perfectly good time to make an exception. 🙂

What is your style of photography during a wedding?
A little bit of everything. Sometimes completely candid, sometimes it’s staged. My ultimate goal is to capture a feeling and emotion in a photo. I call myself a couple’s distant shadow, always looking for beautiful moments that they might not realize are actually happening and find the best light to capture them in. They will later see the picture and remember it, but not realize how special it was. That’s the beauty of a photograph. Life can feel like it’s going a 100 miles an hour but a photo freezes the moment and you can look back on it. That’s my job, capturing the things that make your heart swell with pride. I want you to look back at these photos and beam with pride.

We like what we’re seeing, now what?
Send me an e-mail and let’s meet for coffee to see if we’re a good fit. When it comes to what makes a great photo, they say lighting is everything. A close second would have to be chemistry with your photographer. It’s really important to me to make a connection with everyone of my clients.
