There’s something truly magical about a sunset maternity session at Bodega Head in Bodega Bay—and Savannah and Mathieu’s session was no exception. With the golden light spilling over the cliffs and the ocean stretching endlessly behind them, it was the perfect backdrop to capture this special season of their lives.

Savannah absolutely stunned. She came prepared with the most beautiful outfits—each one flowing effortlessly in the coastal breeze and highlighting her growing baby bump in the most elegant way. I’ve photographed many maternity sessions over the years, but I can honestly say I’ve never seen a pregnant woman look so naturally radiant and beautiful.

What made this session even more meaningful is the history behind it. I first met Savannah years ago through my mom, and since then, I’ve had the honor of photographing so many milestones for her family. Being trusted again to capture this chapter—waiting for their little one—felt incredibly special.

Bodega Head is one of my favorite locations for maternity photos in Sonoma County. The combination of dramatic cliffs, soft coastal light, and open skies creates a timeless, romantic feel that’s hard to replicate anywhere else. Sunset is truly the best time to shoot here, when everything is bathed in warm, glowing light.
