Wedding in Geyserville at The Vineyard Club

I love photographing a moment when someone doesn’t know I’m there.  Like when the grooms father gave his son a watch and a letter before he walked down the aisle.  Seeing them embrace afterwards…a moment the father has thought of his son’s whole life, I’m sure.  And then during the father-daughter dance…I was close to a sob.  Luckily I was able to hide behind the camera.  I was picturing my husband dancing with our daughters on their wedding day and it was hard to hold back.  They danced to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland.  The chorus goes like this…

I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she’d find you someday
But it still hard to give her away
I loved her first

I hope time can find a way to slow down…or I can hold onto these years and appreciate every moment…because one day our daughters won’t be our little girls anymore.  Bring on the grandchildren!!!  Okay, enough about me.  Weddings, at least ones where the love is tangible, can make you do that…look at your own life, the ones you love and remind you to cherish every moment.  Love is the prize of life.  Congratulations Lauren and Cory…enjoy your prize.
